Happy Long Weekend, Tornado Families!
We hope you all had a restful long weekend! We congratulate all our students who celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation on Thursday evening. Thank you to Father Peter, Iris, and the rest of the team for helping to prepare our students for this important event in their faith journey.
This week, we held our Welcome to Kindergarten Night, and we met our new kindergarten students who will be joining our school in September. Thank you to our staff who prepared this important evening.
We have three exciting events happening this week:
Thinking of Moving?: Please contact the school as soon as possible as we are beginning to look at our enrolment for next year. If you are moving, the outgoing and incoming school must be aware so we can prepare. Thank you!
The “Guardians of the Game” webinar, hosted virtually on April 9th, was a big success! Our guests were incredibly informative and engaging, and we have received great feedback. Please click on Guardians of the Game Resources FINAL, so families who didn’t attend can still access the resources.
As you know, the staff cannot manage students’ belongings in a school with many students and activities. If your child has something they genuinely treasure or that has significant value (monetary or sentimental), do not bring it to school, as we cannot ensure that it will not get broken, stolen or lost. As is, our Lost and Found bin is overflowing with student clothing. Thank you for your assistance with this.

Coming Up:
Good afternoon, Tornado Families!
We ended our Catholic Education Week with a living rosary on Friday afternoon, led by the Grade 6 class and their kindergarten Book Buddies. It was a beautiful experience to hear all the students praying the Lord’s Prayer and Hail Mary. We also had some prayers in other languages. We, indeed, are “Called to love.” We also welcome Colombian exchange students who arrive at our school on Monday and will be with us for four weeks.
Congratulations to the students who performed at the Folk Dance Festival on Thursday at RIM Park. They proudly represented our school and put on an outstanding performance!
Some of our grade 7 students will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation on Thursday. We send them blessings as they receive this special sacrament.

Good evening, Tornado Families!
What a great way to start our Catholic Education Week by congratulating our Grade 2 students who celebrated their First Communion at St. Teresa Church today! Thank you to our parents and extended family members who shared this special day with our students and Father Peter for officiating. Thank you to the choir and all who helped prepare our students for today.
This week is very special in our board as we celebrate Catholic Education Week and Mental Health Awareness Week.
This year’s Catholic Education Week theme is, “We are called to love.” The theme for Catholic Education Week 2024 was inspired by the following considerations:
There are five sub-themes for each day of Catholic Education Week:
Every year, the Ontario Catholic School Trustees’ Association (OCSTA) provides our Catholic schools with a resource kit to help them prepare for Catholic Education Week. Using these resources, as well as our own developed activities, we have prepared a series of activities that will highlight how the students and staff at our school are being Called to love together.
