Dear St. Teresa of Avila families,

As you have heard from the Education Minister on Monday school closures will be extending past April 6th.  I know that this is not easy for you.   We have all been impacted by COVID -19 in some way. I know that many of you wanted to be in school this week.  The staff at St. Teresa of Avila wants to be there to see you, hear your stories and teach.

I want to let you know that both the school and the WCDSB wish to stay in communication with you and we will keep you updated on the latest developments, resources and any impact on schools and learning.

I know there are many questions that you have regarding the continuation of learning.  The ministry of education has launched a website: ontario.ca/learnathome where students can continue their learning for the time while schools are closed.   The Waterloo Catholic School Board is also providing STEAM activities for students at https://www.wcdsb.ca/steamdays/ and teachers are providing some tasks as well through their means of communication such as Google Classroom or D2L.

We have met remotely as a staff and we will continue to meet in order to plan and work together. Our teachers will be reaching out to connect with you and their students to say “Hello” and take a tally of who has access to the internet and technology for future tasks.

Please know that you are missed and we all hope to see everyone soon.

Stay Healthy,
